1. Experiment Purpose
This experiment aims to meet customer requirements byconducting a compatibility test on perfluoropolyether anddichloromethane. The goal is to explore their mutual solubilityunder mixed conditions.
2. Compatibility Test
By thoroughly mixing 50 mL of perfluoropolyether with 50 mL ofdichloromethane in a conical flask, and then transferring themixture to a 100 mL graduated cylinder, we observed that, afterstanding still for 1 minute, the two substances rapidly separatedinto two phases while maintaining a clear state. At this point, thevolumes of the two phases remained at 50 mL each, and noapparent macroscopic mutual solubility phenomenon wasobserved.
Throughout the mixing process, neitheremulsification nor significant volume changes ineither of the 50 mL samples were observed. Evenafter vigorous mixing, the two substances were ableto quickly separate without evident mutualsolubility.
3. Conclusion
Based on the experimental results, the conclusioncan be drawn that perfluoropolyether anddichloromethane do not exhibit macroscopicmutual solubility. This finding provides essentialclues for a deeper understanding of theirinteractions and valuable information for relevantapplications and processes.
